Update 29th January, 2021

Governor Phillip (Sooboog x Mar Mara) had his first official trial at Gawler today (Friday 29th January) and was ridden by Todd Pannell. Similar to his jump out, he was slowly away after playing up in the barriers but quickly traveled up behind the leader and finished off the trial in good style.

Will will aim up at another trial and aim to build some more experience in the barriers before hopefully going to the races.

Hopefully we'll see Governor Phillip at the races sometime in February.

Chappaquiddick (Al Maher x Tail Risk) our 2yo filly had a long spell in the Adelaide Hills. We will take the filly along quietly at this stage while she matures and grows. We hope Chappaquiddick can go as well as her 3/4 brother Viral who won at Flemington on the 16th January over 1400M.

Arexevan Racing has acquired two yearling's from the recently concluded Inglis April on-line sale.

Our primary target was Lot 339 a Sooboog x Mar Marra (Exceed And Excel) colt that we were able to secure for $25,000.

Sooboog a son of Snitzel is an untested stallion with Governor Phillip part of Sooboog's initial crop of foals.

Mar Marra, an un-raced Exceed and Excel mare comes from a family with a strong Northern Hemisphere presence. Half sister Pimpernel was a listed winner at 2yo in the UK and is now a successful dam with Goldtown winning the UAE 2000 Guineas at Meydan. Our colt is Mar Marra's first foal.

Our colt already stands at 15h 3" and tips the scales at over 500kg. He was sold by Coolmore as a weanling to Linda Treloar of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills who has done a great job developing him to this point.

Lot 267 a filly by Al Maher out of Tail Risk was passed in at the sale but following a discussion with the vendor Linda Treloar we are happy to advise we've arranged for the filly to be joining the Sooboog colt and our team.

Our filly Chappaquiddick is another first foal. her dam Tail Risk won three races in NSW, all at 3yo.

Chappaquiddick is a 3/4 sister to 5yo city winner Viral (Al Maher x Tyche), Tyche being the dam of Tail Risk. Viral has won five races for trainer Danny O'Brien and finished a very close fourth at his most recent start at Flemington on 2020 Melbourne Cup Day.

Both yearlings wer ebroken in by Krystal Bishop in Adelaide before heading to Clarken Racing stables at Morphettville.

We'll be offering shares in these two horses as they get closer to the racetrack.
