Petite Voix capped off a memorable first year in Singapore when she won her third race from ten starts at Kranji when she easily accounted for the field in a S$60,000 Class 4 Premier Handicap over 1100m on the Polytrack.
Michael Rodd now has a record of three rides for three wins on the mare. His patient style certainly suits Petite Voix very well. With Michael not being able to ride below 55kg he often has to give up rides on horses he has won on
when they move into the bottom of the next highest class but it would be fair to say Michael has made the most of his opportunities when he can ride Petite Voix.
In an extraordinary co-incidence, besides Michael winning three from three, the mare has carried the same "Number 5" saddle cloth in all three wins and she has been credited with winning each of those races by the same margin of 2.3 lengths for all three wins.
The win also capped off a fantastic first full year in Singapore for trainer Lee Freedman that saw him win the Singapore training premiership with sixty seven winners. Arexevan Racing was able to make a worthwhile contribution to Lee's tally with five wins for the year with Cerdan and Petite Voix.
With racing now shut down in Singapore until the New Year, Petite Voix can have a good rest and freshen up after a long campaign and aim up again in the harder Class 3 races in 2019.
The mare has now taken her record in Singapore to 10 starts for 3 wins, a second and a third with S$79,638 in prize money.
Petite Voix is owned by Arexevan racing, Robert Sim, David Dawson, Graeme Blanche, Tim Charlton and Michael Toole-Stott and trained by Lee Freedman.
