Trainer Steven Burridge is starting to have lofty designs after the well bred Switchblade scored back-to-back wins at Kranji on Friday the 20th March,2009.

Dropping back to the rear, the son of Kentucky Derby winner, Fusaichi Pegasus out of the Cox Plate winning Danehill mare, Dane Ripper had to bring his A-game to defeat Polytrack specialist Ricocco (Robbie Fradd) in the dying stages of the S$95,000 Kranji Stakes B race over 1700m.

El Sordo (Danny Beasley) looked to have pinched the race after he wrested the lead from Ricocco at the 900m mark but Ricocco fought back to take the lead with only 200m of the race to run.

For his part, Switchblade was stuck in traffic until well into the straight until jockey Din Azis saw clear running to the inside of the Group 1 winner Currency.  Blocked again for a run with Ricocco and El Sordo in front of Switchblade, Azis gave a little tug on the reins and steered a path between the two front runners at the 120m mark.. From that point, Switchblade looked a winner as he got clear running and got up on the line to beat Ricocco by a neck.

The win was Switchblade's second from seven starts in Singapore and took his earnings to over S$110,000
